Loverboy was found malnourished and with a broken spine in April 2025. Unable to walk or move his back legs and in extreme pain, he was not a candidate for spinal reconstruction surgery as the injury was already too old. Through a sleepless process of pain meds every 4 hours and strict cage rest for over a month, he was eventually able to start physical therapy.
Today, Loverboy is able to walk again, albeit in his own way. After a short rest period and follow up x-rays that show the spinal fracture has calloused over, he is ready to begin physical therapy again to better the use of his legs.
